A large, colorful mural on the exterior wall of a building in Rockford, Illinois, depicting themes of literacy, community, and opportunity. The mural features a child in a yellow shirt reading a book at its center, surrounded by imagery including flowers, tomatoes, architectural blueprints, a globe, stacked books, a rocket, a camera, and figures of youth reaching toward a bright future. Painted in a bold, graphic style with vibrant blues, greens, and yellows against a bright blue sky.

Our Team

At United Way Rock River Valley, our work is guided by both a dedicated internal team and an engaged Board of Directors who share a deep commitment to Winnebago County.

Together, we bring a balance of professional expertise, community knowledge, and lived experience to everything we do. Our staff leads the day-to-day work—developing strategy, building partnerships, and mobilizing resources—while our Board is made up of local leaders who offer insight, perspective, and governance rooted in a strong understanding of our community’s needs.

Working side by side, this collective group helps ensure our mission stays focused, accountable, and impactful. Behind every program, partnership, and outcome is a shared belief in the power of people coming together to create lasting change for our neighbors and the communities we call home.
