United Way Rock River Valley Receives Inaugural Partner in Education Award
United Way Rock River Valley is honored to have received the inaugural Partner in Education Award from the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce during its annual Business Excellence Awards on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Presented in partnership with the Regional Office of Education, the new award recognizes a business, organization, or individual whose commitment to education has made a meaningful and lasting impact in the Rockford Region through collaboration, leadership, and community engagement.
We are deeply grateful for this recognition, but we know it reflects the collective efforts of so many people. Our work is made possible by the schools, nonprofit partners, healthcare providers, businesses, volunteers, donors, and community members who share our vision of helping every child succeed.
Through United for Literacy, we remain committed to bringing people together to improve literacy rates and create more opportunities for children and families across our region. As Dr. Huff, the new superintendent of Rockford Public Schools and guest of honor at the event, shared, “Every child deserves a great education, regardless of their ZIP code.” We share that belief and remain committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to become a confident reader and build a strong foundation for the future.
