Request for Proposal: Post-COVID Supports

Introduction

COVID-19 imparted more than just health implications across our country. It battered families, communities, businesses, and relationships. It put parents out of work, shrouded homes in grief, and shut children out of their schools and services that taught and cared for them. COVID closed businesses, toppled personal finances, created greater divides than what already existed, and it caused harm we may not fully realize for years to come. The social, emotional, economic, and academic toll may never be fully realized but we know it is extensive and pervasive.

United Way of Rock River Valley wants to support organizations who are still struggling to regain their footing post-COVID. They may have programs still unfunded, clients still unserved, programs not yet restarted and/or gaps in their funding that still exist. This funding is not being offered via any initiative or focus area, but is merely offered to help where post-COVID issues might still exist.

This Request for Proposal is for funding that will be available July 1, 2022, and to be expended by June 30, 2023. We have $400,000 available and have no minimum or maximum limits per proposal. However, please understand that we want the money to serve as many organizations as possible and our community wide impact team will review and fund requests with that in mind. There is no minimum amount, but a suggested maximum limit is $25,000, but will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. No capital requests will be considered.

We are going “old school” with this application process, meaning you are not able to apply on-line.

To apply, please click here and fill out and submit the application on the third page.

Your application needs to explain why you need the funding, what specifically it will be used for and whom it will benefit. Your organization should have been in existence since before the pandemic started (so prior to March 2020) with proof of that with incorporation paperwork.

Written proposals must be turned in by 3:00 p.m. on June 8, 2022 either to the email RFP@unitedwayrrv.org or to the United Way office at 612 N Main St, Suite 300.
