Owen has spent nearly his entire life in the Rock River Valley, being born in Rockford and raised in Rockton. After receiving a journalism degree from Illinois State University, he spent six years serving the community in the news department of WTVO-17/WQRF-39 before joining the nonprofit world in the marketing department of United Way. He is a proud husband, the father of two young boys, a long-suffering Chicago Bears fan, and a proponent of the Oxford comma. Owen joined United Way in December of 2018.
