United Way of Rock River Valley announced that they have hired Cornell Bondurant as Director of Community Impact. Bondurant will lead United Way’s efforts in growing deep, strategic, impactful initiatives aimed at improving lives in our community. That includes overseeing and developing our Move the Middle, literacy, and 211 initiatives.
Bondurant has held several positions within the human services/child welfare field, as well as within post-secondary education. Most recently, he was the Dean of Non-Credit Programs at Rock Valley College.
“We are thrilled to have Cornell join our United Way team,” said Julie Bosma, President and CEO of United Way of Rock River Valley. “His experience across the human services and educational fields makes him the perfect person to oversee our growing collective impact initiatives that serve our community. We are so grateful to have him!”
“I am honored to take on this new role as Director of Community Impact,” said Bondurant. “I’m looking forward to developing and expanding these already impactful initiatives—continuing to bring support and encouragement to this incredible community.”
Born and raised in Rockford, Bondurant obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Western Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Illinois-Chicago before returning home. He is a devoted husband, father to a son and daughter, and a huge Green Bay Packers fan.
Bondurant assumed his role as Director of Collective Impact for United Way in November.
