Give a book to a young reader this holiday season and help make a difference in literacy. Now until December 31, 2014, stop by Barnes & Noble at CherryVale Mall (7200 Harrison, Rockford, Illinois) and purchase a popular title, one that your children enjoy, or a childhood favorite of your own. Either way, for some children it is the only gift they receive during the holiday season.

Books will be sorted and distributed to Harlem, Oregon, and Rockford public schools, which participate in United Way's early-grade reading program. Last year, 4,400 books were donated to students.
