Born and raised in Rockford, Cornell has developed a passion for the community that he represents. After obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Western Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago, he returned home. Cornell has held several positions within human services/child welfare as well as within post-secondary education before joining United Way. He is a devoted husband, father of a son and daughter, and a huge sports fan (Go Pack!).
