Behind every United Way workplace campaign is a group of individuals that play a key role in making the campaign a success. Employee Campaign Coordinators not only provide a link between their organizations and United Way, they also plan, organize and coordinate the entire workplace campaign for their company.

The Employee Campaign Coordinator of the Year Award recognizes the time, effort and talent of individuals who are essential to helping United Way improve the lives of our community.

2013 Employee Campaign Coordinator of the Year Recipient

Steve Shrider, Woodward

As one of the larger United Way accounts, Woodward continues to post growth in all areas. As employee campaign coordinator, Shrider led a dynamic committee that met weekly over a two-month period to plan campaign activities and followed up with a United Way staff person after those meetings. The committee secured leadership involvement throughout the campaign, including support from the company's CEO. United Way President/CEO Paul Logli was invited to speak to their leadership staff and Campaign Chair Rebecca Epperson spoke during an all-member staff meeting. Campaign presentations were held at several time periods at both company locations to ensure all employees heard about United Way's community impact. Special events and incentives were implemented to encourage campaign participation, particularly focusing on new pledge donors.

Congratulations to Steve Shrider. As a result, Woodward increased campaign pledge totals by 10%, increased new donors by 21%, and saw overall employee participation go up by 38%.
