Each year during the Community Campaign Celebration event, United Way of Rock River Valley recognizes an organization's exemplary demonstration of United Way's spirit of Give, Advocate, and Volunteer throughout the year with the LIVE UNITED Award. This organization is a champion for improving lives in the community through corporate philanthropy, volunteer efforts and community impact.

2013 LIVE UNITED Award Recipient

Rockford Health System

Here is a brief description of Rockford Health System's actions in the areas of Give, Advocate and Volunteer:

Rockford Health System reported an increase to their 2013/2014 Community Campaign pledge totals and continued their corporate gift contribution at above the $25,000 level.

But it is their outstanding work in advocacy and volunteerism that makes them a champion of our community.

Starting with strong management support, which begins with President/CEO Gary Kaatz, Rockford Health System's campaign committee meets monthly with United Way staff and organizes activities year round.

Both Gary and Dan Parod, who serves as a United Way board member, actively participate in campaign activities throughout the year, including their campaign kickoff and wrap-up, and regularly send a team of volunteers to participate in United Way's Day of Caring. In addition, RHS supports our community through time and treasure with various other organizations.

Congratulations to Rockford Health System for helping improve lives in our community.
