Day of Caring Projects

Volunteers are at the heart of United Way of Rock River Valley. These community service projects are hands-on experiences that truly impact an organization and the people it serves. These projects are designed to engage groups of volunteers in supporting our partner agencies while making a difference in the community.

Corporate partners are invited to participate in these team-based projects that can accommodate up to 25 volunteers and are tailored to the needs of your company. Non-profits are invited to submit important projects that they could use the assistance of a group of volunteers in completing.

Family Wize Prescription Drug Discount Card

40% of people in the United States in the last two years have either skipped filling a prescription or reduced doses because the medicine was too expensive.  To address this, more than 830 United Way agencies and America's Promise Alliance Partners, in all 50 states, have come together in this Family Wize community service partnership to organize and coordinate community-wide distribution of these free prescription drug discount cards.  The goal is to reduce the cost of medicine for people in need by at least $100 million.

United Way of Rock River Valley is providing these cards free-of-charge to everyone in our community. There are no age restrictions, no income restrictions, no limit on how many times you can use it and no waiting to get a card. 

If you have internet access you can go to www.FamilyWize.org to print the card, look up drug prices, and get a list of participating pharmacies or you can call/go to any local pharmacies to get information and receive your card.
