Family Support

About Family Support

United Way programs like 211 and 988 and partnerships with organizations like FEMA help alleviate the stress and anxiety families are experiencing due to unemployment, food instability, and evictions, which have increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family Support initiatives

211 is a 24/7 service that allows you to simply dial 2-1-1 to connect with trained staff and volunteers who will listen to your situation and quickly refer you to the most appropriate source of assistance.

988 is the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

Through a partnership with FEMA, United Way of Rock River Valley annually provides financial assistance to local organizations that provide food, shelter, and supportive services to our community. That includes meals, shelter, rent and mortgage assistance, cleaning supplies for shelters, personal protective equipment, and so much more.
